Hi, we're Örn & Unnur Björk

We're an Icelandic couple who've called Norway home for many years now, married more than twenty of them, and parents to three kids who have very strong opinions about how Grandma's recipes are supposed to taste.

Between our two families there are recipe cards that have crossed an ocean and back, notes scribbled in the margins of old cookbooks, and dishes that only exist because someone once sat down and wrote out exactly how it's done. We've always believed the best things in life come down to family, good food, and the stories that get passed along with a recipe — who taught it to whom, what it means, why it's made a certain way.

We built Family Cookbookz because we wanted a simple, lasting place to keep all of that — not just the ingredients and steps, but the handwriting, the photos, the little dedications that turn a recipe into a memory. Somewhere our kids, and someday theirs, can find Grandma's lasagna long after the napkin it was written on is gone.
